Horrific Motorcycle Crash Sent Him to Jesus. What He Learned with Change Your Life
When Tony Ellis climbed onto his Harley-Davidson for a short ride, he had no idea he was about to encounter Jesus Christ Himself.
In this intense video, Tony recounts the moment his life changed forever. “I was headed to the house,” Tony explained. “I’m 45 miles an hour down a 55, and this Honda Pilot, blue Honda Pilot, just blows through a stop sign coming out of a little trailer park, boom, and just stops right in front of me.”
Tony clipped the vehicle, flipping through the air about 20 feet, before crashing down onto the road.
“I remember jumping up and trying to walk it off,” he said. “And when I jumped up and tried to walk it off, my whole right side just collapsed on me.”
His femur was broken in half and protruding from his leg. Half his foot was gone. His shin bone — both his tibia and fibula — were sticking out. Blood sprayed from his femoral artery with every beat of his heart.
“I remember grabbing the femur and squeezing it to try to stop it from bleeding,” Tony said. “That must have been too much pain for me, so I passed out.”
That’s when something extraordinary happened.
Encounter with Jesus
“When I lost consciousness,” Tony recalled, “my soul left my body and Jesus Christ was standing on that road with me.”
Tony described Jesus as about 5’10” or 5’11”, with shoulder-length golden bronze hair and skin the same dark, glowing golden bronze color. Light radiated around Him.
“It was just like the most beautiful silhouette just glowing around Him,” he said.
Tony stood beside Jesus, looking at his own broken body lying in the street. Civilians rushed out of their cars to help, but Tony felt strangely detached, like he was watching a movie unfold.
“I’m standing there beside Jesus Christ,” he said, “watching it like it’s a TV show or like it’s happening to somebody else.”
At first, panic hit him.
“A sense of regret coming over me,” Tony remembered. “What are my kids gonna do? What’s my woman gonna do? What’s gonna happen to our house? I don’t have no will and testament.”
But that quickly changed.
“Then the sense of peace just come over me,” Tony said. “And it was like, ‘Don’t worry about that. Your fight here on this Earth is over. Jesus Christ is here to take you with Him.’”
The Battle for Life
Soon, the ambulance arrived. Tony watched from a distance as paramedics worked frantically on his body.
“They said, ‘We don’t have a pulse. We ain’t got no pulse. Get the blood started,’” he said.
Tony and Jesus moved, not by walking, but as if they were both simply carried over to the back of the ambulance. From there, they watched the medics try to save him.
“They’re scrambling, they’re doing all kinds of stuff to me,” Tony said. “No heartbeat.”
Paramedics hit him repeatedly with the defibrillators.
“Every time they would hit me with the defibrillators,” he explained, “I would see my heartbeat jump one time on the screen and then flatline.”
Bang. Beep. Flatline.
Bang. Beep. Flatline.
“They hit me with it five, four or five times,” Tony said. “And I could tell that they were losing hope. I could sense the discouragement inside of them.”
But Tony wasn’t afraid.
“I truly felt that Jesus Christ was there to take me with Him,” he said. “My battle here on Earth was stupid.”
Finally, a medic tried one more time.
“Boom, he hits me one more time,” Tony said. “Beep, beep, beep — and now my heart kept beating.”
The moment his heart restarted, Tony’s soul reentered his body.
“Now I’m laying on the gurney looking up at the top of the ambulance,” he recalled. “But I can still see Jesus clear as day standing at the back of the ambulance, bro. Like no bullcrap.”
Jesus stood there, radiant like a star.
“It was like a star or the sun was out there,” Tony said. “It was the bright… like it was blinding.”
Flashbacks and a Message from Jesus
After he stabilized, Tony experienced vivid flashbacks of all the near-death experiences he had survived throughout his violent past — shootouts, riots, stabbings, and accidents where he should have died.
When the flashbacks ended, Tony heard — not with his ears, but deep inside — the voice of Jesus:
“I was beside you the whole time. I am showing Myself to you now to ensure you that I am your Lord and your Savior Jesus Christ. I have always been with you. Live righteous. Share your story. For this will be your last chance.”
When Tony’s eyes finally opened, Jesus was gone. The ambulance doors were slamming shut, and the vehicle raced toward the trauma center.
Living with Purpose
Recovery was brutal. Tony spent weeks in the ICU, underwent multiple surgeries, battled depression, and even endured fentanyl withdrawal. Yet through it all, he clung to what he had seen.
“If I hadn’t got my butt back in my truck that day and asked the Lord for forgiveness and meant it from the bottom of my heart,” Tony said, “I’d be in hell right now, man. And I feel that 100%.”
He continued, “You never realize how much people need you until they don’t have you no more.”
Tony no longer chases material things.
“I stopped caring about money,” he explained. “I stopped caring about materialistic things.”
Today, his focus is on his children, his faith, and his calling to share his story.
“Help people,” Tony urged. “If you have the ability to help people, help people.”
No Fear of Death
Asked if he feared death now, Tony was clear:
“No, I’m not scared of death, man. Death is something to be embraced.”
Reflecting on everything he went through, he said:
“Focus on what’s in front of you. Your family, your children. If you don’t have any of that, focus on yourself and your spiritual well-being. And everything else will fall into place.”
And for those who wonder if Jesus is real?
“There are no doubts in my mind after this experience,” Tony said. “No doubt. No doubt.”
