Man Reunited with Dog in Heaven

In Heaven, I remembered nothing of my sufferings in the world.

Even watching my trials in the world during my life reviews, did not evoke any sorrow. They spoke of the purpose and sometimes the joy that God created for me through those storms of life.

This epiphany manifested before my spiritual eyes as the Holy Spirit now blew forth a strong wind to wash through all of the vignettes I had viewed. He was cleansing them of all of the wrongs and restoring them to the fullness of what God intended in Heaven, turning them all for good, through a type of spiritual cleansing.

As Jesus revealed my life, I realized His complete redemption of everything in my life, such that the afterglow of Jesus’s redemption, in tandem with the Holy Spirit’s purifying breath, left me with a new appreciation of my earthly sufferings. I could see the spiritual rain as it poured forth from the Holy Spirit onto the earth, and from which He produces life from death, joy from suffering, and beauty from ashes.

Heaven Stormed

Randy Kay

As part of my life review, I found myself playing tug of war with my childhood dog, Casey. We were in the backyard beneath the same oak tree where weeks before a squirrel froze in horror when Casey broke his chain. I could smell the freshly cut grass I mowed, as Casey jumped up and down trying to snatch the short rope.

My setting suddenly changed. I was now in paradise standing beside Jesus, surrounded by rolling vineyards with flowers and trees growing in front of my eyes. Iridescent flowers instantly sprouted forth from their buds, in myriads of colorful shades and varieties. It dawned on me that the perpetual growth of flora appeared not because time accelerated in Heaven. Rather, the circadian rhythms were not predicated on the sun, because no sun existed. They thrived in the presence of Jesus’s light, in a perpetual state of renewal, where nothing died.

The wonders of Heaven consumed me until Jesus motioned for me to look behind me. There in Heaven—not in the vignette I just beheld but in Heaven at the present time—I could see radiant and variably colored stones that pulsed with life. My eyes beheld vistas of mountaintops gleaming not from the sun—because again, no sun appeared—but that glistened from the brilliance of Jesus’s own light. I peered with my spiritual eyes over the pinnacles of the mountains. At the same time, I saw the veins in the leaves below as if I was examining them through a microscope.

Worshipful choruses from angels with folded wings echoed throughout Heaven, their joyous songs of praise, thanksgiving, and triumph. Their pristine tones held a soft, yet reverberating resonance of a thousand choruses or more. Within the glorious sounds, Jesus somehow stilled my ears, to focus solely upon the “now” in Heaven’s paradise.

We were surrounded by a meadow that burst forth with purple flowers, my favorite color. Jesus swung His arm to motion me toward my left. My little dog Casey jumped up and down, just as we did in play when I was a child. I picked him up and hugged him tightly, thanking God while snuggling my little dog. I didn’t sneeze as I often had on earth. He licked my face up and down with the same veracity of his greetings when I returned home from school. Oh how I thoroughly enjoyed being with little Casey again in Heaven. I had missed him so much in the world. To see him again in Heaven inspired me with God’s loving-kindness.

“See beloved, I give you the desires of your heart,” Jesus said audibly. “You will see him again when you return here,” He said.

“Thank You, Lord!” I said. Casey barked thrice as if saying, “See you again, my friend.” I seemed to understand his barks as words. Then he ran into a greener-than-green field of grass before disappearing over the crest of a hill that had trees that waved elegantly due to what I thought was the breath of the Holy Spirit—a breath that orchestrated everything in Heaven.

That breath of life would bring another shift to my surroundings—one that was dark and that only God could make right.
